About Us

St Aidan’s is an Anglican congregation in the Christchurch suburb of Bryndwr. We have a strong evangelical tradition and are committed to faithful Bible teaching, heart-felt worship and fellowship, and a prayerful engagement in mission, locally and overseas.

Ministry Team:

Rev Dr. Peter Carrell – Interim Vicar. Peter is currently Director of Theology House and Director of Education for the Diocese of Christchurch. He was ordained at the end of 1986 and served for several years in the Diocese of Nelson, before returning to Christchurch in 2010.

Peter is married to Teresa Kundycki-Carrell and they have four children aged 15 to 22 years. Outside of theological education Peter’s interests are in sport, gardening, and politics.

Bob Robinson. Bob is a senior lecturer in Theology at Laidlaw College in Christchurch and is an honorary non-stipendary minister at St Aidan’s. Bob served with the Church Missionary Society in Singapore and New Zealand and gained a PhD in Theology from London University researching the relationship between the Gospel and Hinduism.

Dale Oldham. Dale is an honorary non-stipendiary minister at St. Aidan’s. Trained as a pharmacist and Anglican minister, he has previously served in parishes in England and the Diocese of Christchurch and with NZCMS in Tanzania and in New Zealand.

Carol Trotter (member of the pastoral team).

Neil & Shirley McNabb. Neil & Shirley are a both licensed lay ministers with Shirley also being a member of the Pastoral Team. Neil & Shirley were missionaries together in Tanzania with the Church Missionary Society from 1969-1983, where they were involved in farm and community development.
